Christos Giagos is out, and Frank Camacho is in at UFC Lincoln.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources that Camacho (22-8) is stepping in as a replacement for Giagos to fight Alan Patrick (15-2) in a lightweight bout at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., on April 25. The change was first reported by Combate.
The reason for Giagos’s withdrawal was not disclosed, but his management shared an Instagram post of him in the hospital after undergoing a successful surgery on Tuesday.
A 30-fight veteran, Camacho enters his next bout with three losses in his last four fights. “The Crank” last saw his hand raised after defeating Nick Hein by first-round TKO last June. He is 1-1 since dropping back down to 155 pounds. Camacho won a Fight of the Night bonus in his first three UFC appearances.
Patrick owns a 5-2 UFC record, though he has competed sporadically since debuting with the promotion in 2013. He logged no octagon appearances last year, most recently losing to Scott Holtzman by third-round TKO in October 2018 at UFC 229. Before that, he picked up consecutive wins over Damir Hadzovic, Stevie Ray, and Damien Brown.
