Cage Warriors 113 to go ahead behind closed doors, John Philips v Dusko Todorovic added to card

According to Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan, Cage Warriors 113 will take place behind closed doors on Friday night in London, England, and the card will also be bolstered by the addition of a fight that was scheduled to take place at UFC London - John Philips vs. Dusko Todorovic.

Boylan took to social media on Monday morning to share the news with fans. The first tweet read: “Update: 1 [Cage Warriors] WILL be behind closed doors. The ticketing team & office people will be working out how refunds can be claimed that info will follow.”

In the next post he revealed that Phillips vs. Todorovic would be added to the card: “John Philips v Dusko Todorovic has been confirmed to take place [at Cage Warriors] Friday Night. The event will be broadcasted LIVE on [UFC Fight Pass] as well as TV Networks around the World.”

According to sources close to the promotion, Cage Warriors will look to host more UFC London bouts if it can facilitate them.

Phillips (22-9-0) recently broke a three-fight skid with the UFC by claiming a signature knockout over Alen Amedovski at UFC Copenhagen. Dusko Todorovic was set for his full UFC debut in London following his decision win over Teddy Ash last year on the Contender Series.

Despite the mass cancellation of event across Europe due to coronavirus, Cage Warriors are determined to stage its much anticipated event at the Indigo on Friday. There have been several blows to the card, most notably Paddy Pimblett’s opponent Davide Martinez being unable to travel to the event due to the Italian coronavirus quarantine, but the organization has continued to work on it’s feet, securing Pimblett a compelling dance partner in Decky Dalton.

With lightweight front runners Joe McColgan and Mason Jones both losing dance partners, the U.K. duo are now set to face off against one another for Jai Herbert’s recently vacated lightweight title. Interim featherweight champion Morgan Charriere is set to defend his title in the main event against Darko Banovic.
