Alexa Grasso has an opponent for her flyweight debut.
Officials announced Friday that Grasso (11-3) will meet Ji Yeon Kim (9-2-2) in a 125-pound bout at UFC Austin, which takes place at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on June 27.
Grasso declared her intention to change divisions following the fallout of her most recent weight miss that cost her a main card pay-per-view bout at UFC 246 in Las Vegas this past January. The 26-year-old came in 5.5 pounds over the strawweight limit for a bout with Claudia Gadelha and the Nevada State Athletic Commission ruled that the bout would not proceed as scheduled. It was the second time in seven tries that Grasso failed to make weight in the UFC.
As for her in-cage performances, Grasso has alternated wins and losses in her past six outings, most recently dropping a majority decision to former strawweight champion Carla Esparza last September.
Kim, 30, has won three of her last four fights. In her lone appearance of 2019, Kim defeated Nadia Kassem by second-round KO at UFC 243 in October.
