LAS VEGAS – “Triple C” Henry Cejudo is unrepentant about his title defense against Jose Aldo, and he plans to win a third UFC title next.
After taking out “the greatest featherweight of all time,” Cejudo promises to add “that overgrown midget”—current 145-pound champ Alexander Volkanovski—to his list of victims.
“This ain’t the MFC – the ‘Midget Fighting Championships,” Cejudo, in pure promotional mode for a media day held by his management firm Dominance MMA, told MMA Fighting. “This is the UFC. You’re next.”
Cejudo said he only needs to dispatch Aldo to set up a fight with Volkanovski, who captured the belt this past December with a win over the long-reigning champ Max Holloway.
“That’s my country,” Cejudo said of Aldo. “I don’t even think he’s Brazilian; I think he’s from Paraguay. I’m Brazilian, I’m Brazil, and I’m taking that head. You guys save that appetite, because on May 9, ‘Triple C’ is going to be serving G.O.A.T.”
