Megan Anderson staked her claim to a potential title shot with a devastating first round knockout to finish Norma Dumont at UFC Norfolk.
The former Invicta FC champion needed just a single right hand that drilled Dumont on the chin and sent her crashing to the canvas as referee Kevin MacDonald rushed into stop the fight before any more damage could be inflicted. The end came at 3:31 in the opening round.

“This is what I knew I’m capable of the entire time,” Anderson said after notching her second straight win in the UFC. “I’m just glad I could come out here and pitch a shutout.”
Prior to the finish, Anderson was fending off takedown attempts from inside the clinch as Dumont looked to close the distance and take away some of the reach and power coming from the 6-foot-tall Australian.
Dumont failed to really gain much position and once Anderson broke free of her grip, she began throwing her punches with bad intentions.
As both fighters stepped into an exchange, it was Anderson who connected flush with her powerful right hand and a second later Dumont was dazed on the ground as her night came to an end.
With Amanda Nunes currently targeting a featherweight title defense at UFC 250 in Brazil, Anderson believes she is the perfect opponent to offer her a challenge in May.
“I’m the only featherweight that is on a win streak,” Anderson said following her win. “So let’s f*cking go!”
