With Alex Munoz out of this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card in Norfolk, Va., former Ultimate Fighter contender Luis Pena is expected to face promotional newcomer Steve Garcia on short notice.

Sources confirmed the newly minted matchup when speaking to MMA Fighting on Monday following an initial report from MMAJunkie.

Garcia is an 11-3 veteran from New Mexico, who previously competed on Dana White’s Contender Series last August. Garcia won that fight by first round TKO but he didn’t earn a contract with the UFC after failing to make weight for the bantamweight contest.

He then went onto win his next fight by TKO at LFA 80 in January and now Garcia will get the call up to join the UFC roster at featherweight on just five days’ notice before the event.

As for Pena, he will look to bounce back after suffering a loss to Matt Frevola in his most recent appearance inside the Octagon. “Violent Bob Ross” has gone 3-2 during his UFC career including wins over Steven Peterson and Matt Wiman.

UFC Norfolk will be headlined by a flyweight title fight between Joseph Benavidez and Deveison Figueiredo as they battle it out for the vacant 125-pound championship.
