With her back to the wall, Brazilian flyweight Priscila Cachoeira delivered in the most emphatic way possible.
Cachoeira needed just 40 seconds to flatten Shana Dobson at UFC Auckland, earning her first Octagon win after three consecutive setbacks with the organization. The finish was the fastest in women’s flyweight history.

In a pre-fight interview with MMA Fighting, Cachoeira spoke at length about the challenges she faced in recovering from her octagon debut, a brutal beatdown at the hands of current strawweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Another pair of losses and a suspension from U.S. Anti-Doping Agency ratcheted up the pressure on her heading into the event Down Under.
After starching Dobson with an uppercut, Cachoeira burst into tears in celebration. It was her first win in three years after an eight-fight unbeaten streak led her to the UFC.
