On this week’s episode of What the Heck, MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck chats with former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker (6:03) to discuss his recent win over Jared Cannonier at UFC 254, his change of mindset, Israel Adesanya moving up to 205 to challenge Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title, Dana White’s claims that he didn’t want to fight Adesanya, and the politics of the MMA business.

UFC bantamweight Adrian Yanez (24:44) recaps his highlight reel first-round knockout in his octagon debut this past Saturday at UFC Vegas 12, talks being self critical as a fighter, sharing the card with Anderson Silva’s final octagon fight, when he wants to return, and the importance of mental health.

UFC flyweight Lauren Murphy (51:27) discusses her submission win over Liliya Shakirova at UFC 254 and the momentum she gained from it, Cynthia Calvillo’s recent comments about her victory, thoughts on Calvillo being booked against Katlyn Chookagian, recently signing with First Round Management, and believing a No. 1 contender fight with Jessica Andrade should be next.

Finally, UFC middleweight Kevin Holland (1:11:10) discusses his fourth victory of 2020 that he picked up over Charlie Ontiveros this past Saturday at UFC Vegas 12, the challenge he presented himself once he got his new opponent during fight week, engaging with Israel Adesanya after the win and what led to that happening, wanting to fight two more times before the end of the year, and more.
