The UFC decided to re-book the bantamweights for a yet-to-be-announced event on Feb. 20, multiple persons with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting after Kunitskaya announced the news on social media.
Vieira and Kunitskaya were originally scheduled to face off on Aug. 1, but the match was postponed for the following Saturday. Vieira ultimately withdrew from the card due to visa issues.
Kunitskaya (13-5, 1 NC) is coming off a decision victory over Julija Stoliarenko in August. The former Invicta FC bantamweight champion won three of four bouts in the 135-pound weight class after losing her UFC debut to then-featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.
Vieira (11-1) returned to the win column with a decision over short-notice replacement Sijara Eubanks in Abu Dhabi, nine months after suffering the first loss of her career to Irene Aldana. Vieira is 5-1 in the UFC with wins over Cat Zingano, Sara McMann, Ashlee Evans-Smith and Kelly Faszholz.
