“Violent” Bob Ross will make his return to action at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Norfolk, Va. when he meets Dana White Contender Series veteran Alex Munoz.
UFC officials announced the pairing on Tuesday night.
Pena will be making his sixth appearance inside the Octagon after joining the UFC by way of The Ultimate Fighter. The American Kickboxing Academy lightweight is 3-2 overall and he’s coming off a razor-close split decision loss in his last fight against Matt Frevola.
The good news is Pena just inked a new contract with the UFC in addition to booking his next fight as he looks to get back on track on Feb. 29.
Meanwhile, Munoz will be making his promotional debut as he joins the roster with a perfect 6-0 record while training out of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento.
Munoz previously competed on Dana White’s Contender Series where he defeated current Bellator fighter Nick Newell but he wasn’t offered a contract afterwards. Munoz picked up one more win this past October and now he’s been signed by the UFC with his first fight booked against Pena in February.
Pena vs. Munoz joins the UFC card from Norfolk, which will be headlined by a flyweight title fight as Joseph Benavidez takes on Deiveson Figueiredo to crown a new champion after Henry Cejudo surrendered the belt.
