A welterweight fight between the always exciting Alex Oliveira and Max Griffin is headed to Las Vegas as part of UFC 248 on March 7.

Multiple sources close to the contest confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday following an initial report from MMAJunkie.

Oliveira was originally expected to face Mickey Gall at UFC Fight Night in Norfolk, Va. but without notice that planned matchup was scrapped. Now, the Brazilian will return a week later with a new matchup booked for UFC 248 instead.

Oliveira will look to bounce back when he returns in March after dropping three straight fights in a row, including losses to Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby.

As for Griffin, the 34-year-old welterweight will try to get back in the win column as well after dropping a unanimous decision to Alex Morono in his most recent fight. Griffin is currently 3-5 in the UFC, but he’ll attempt to add another victory to his resume come March.

Oliveira vs. Griffin is the latest addition to UFC 248, which also includes a strawweight title fight between reigning champion Zhang Weili and former title holder Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
