Multiple sources close to the contest confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday following an initial report from MMAJunkie.
Oliveira was originally expected to face Mickey Gall at UFC Fight Night in Norfolk, Va. but without notice that planned matchup was scrapped. Now, the Brazilian will return a week later with a new matchup booked for UFC 248 instead.
As for Griffin, the 34-year-old welterweight will try to get back in the win column as well after dropping a unanimous decision to Alex Morono in his most recent fight. Griffin is currently 3-5 in the UFC, but he’ll attempt to add another victory to his resume come March.
