The Bellator welterweight division has added another veteran.
Jordan Mein (31-12) has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion, MMA Fighting confirmed with officials following an initial report by TSN. The 30-year-old most recently fought for the UFC in July 2018. His Bellator debut has not been finalized.
In nine Octagon appearances, the Alberta native went 5-4 with notable wins over Erick Silva and Mike Pyle, the latter of whom he defeated by TKO in just 72 seconds. Mein ended his UFC run with back-to-back decision wins over Silva and Alex Morono.
An MMA pro since the age of 16, Mein competed primarily in Canada for his first few years before joining the Strikeforce promotion in 2011 and later the UFC in 2013. “Young Gun” briefly retired from competition from August 2015 to December 2016.
