UFC Raleigh video: Herbert Burns scores explosive knee knockout in debut

New, comments

Like his older brother Gilbert, Herbert Burns is known for his submission skills. In his UFC debut, he showed he can crack too.

Burns picked up a first-round knockout of former M-1 featherweight champion Nate Landwehr in the opening preliminary fight of UFC Raleigh on Saturday, blasting Landwehr with a clinch knee right to the jaw.

It was the first knockout win for the 31-year-old Brazilian and the first knockout loss for Landwehr.

Earlier, it looked like Burns would put Landwehr away with an anaconda choke, but Lahdwehr managed to fight out of that situation and bring the fight back to the feet. He then pressured Burns against the fence and Burns made him pay with the KO blow.

That’s four straight wins now for Burns, who improved to 10-2 as a pro.
