This is the UFC Raleigh live blog for Curtis Blaydes vs. Junior dos Santos, the heavyweight headliner for Saturday’s fight card at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

Both Blaydes and dos Santos hope to get a title shot after setbacks delayed their pursuit of UFC gold. Dos Santos, a former champ, returns after a knockout loss to Francis Ngannou, while Blaydes is on a two-fight winning streak after his own setback against Ngannou.

Round 1: The referee for this main event is Dan Miragliotta. Blaydes looking to establish range with his jab and a leg kick. Dos Santos touches him with a straight right. He circles away as Blaydes reaches for a leg. JDS avoids a long-distance takedown attempt. Not a lot of output from dos Santos, he’s looking to counter-strike. Blaydes reaching out with that jab, but he can’t get into grappling range. He gets in deep with a double leg and they’re working against the fence now. Punch to the body by Blaydes ends up a little low and we have a break in the action. They resume and dos Santos again evades a takedown. Glancing punch to the body by dos Santos, Blaydes answers with a straight right. Blaydes with another right hand and JDS misses with an uppercut. Another right by Blaydes. Uppercut by JDS at the close of the round. Great takedown defense by dos Santos, but did he have enough offense to go up on the scorecards?

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Blaydes.

Round 2: Blaydes comes out swinging in round two and he’s getting through. JDS still struggling to find an opening. High kick by dos Santos is blocked. His takedown defense is still holding up. Blaydes rocks him with a straight right across the jaw. He’s wobbled and Blaydes follows up with punches against the cage. Dos Santos turtling up. Miragliotta in there to wave it off.

Official result: Curtis Blaydes def. Junior dos Santos via TKO (punches) at 1:06 of round two
