After a pair of decisions opened UFC 246 on a modest note, lightweight Drew Dober sent a jolt through the crowd with a quick finish.
A left hand from the 31-year-old Elevation Fight Team product sent Nasrat Haqparast to the canvas early in the first round of the ESPN-televised prelim, and a series of vicious follow-ups forced a stoppage just 70 seconds into the opening frame.
By the time referee Mark Smith intervened, Dober had secured control of Haqparast’s head and used his free arm to land several heavy shots that produced a knockout.
Check out the finish.

Dober now has won back-to-back octagon bouts by TKO and is 5-1 in his past six outings. After rejecting a long-term move to the welterweight division, he appears to be picking up steam.
Haqparast, a protege of Firas Zahabi and Tristar MMA, sees a three-fight winning streak snapped.
