A few intriguing prospects have been added to the Bellator 239 lineup.
MMA Fighting confirmed with officials that a flyweight bout between Denise Kielholtz and Kristina Williams, and a heavyweight bout between the unbeaten Tyrell Fortune and veteran Timothy Johnson will take place at the promotion’s upcoming show on Feb. 21 in Thackerville, Okla.
The matchups were first reported by MMA Junkie.
Kielholtz vs. Williams will take place on the preliminaries, while Fortune vs. Johnson is part of the event’s main card.
A standout kickboxer, Kielholtz (4-2) is set to compete in the Bellator cage for the fifth time. She is 4-1 since making her debut with the organization, with her lone loss coming at the hands of top contender Veta Arteaga. “Miss Dynamite” has won back-to-back fights, most recently defeating Sabriye Sengul by submission in just 32 seconds at Bellator London in November.
Williams (3-2) made her pro debut at Bellator 185 back in October 2017, when she defeated boxing champion Heather Hardy via doctor stoppage in the second round. She has gone 2-2 since, with wins over Bruna Ellen and Emily Ducote.
Fortune currently holds a record of 8-0, all under the Bellator banner, while Johnson (12-6) is still seeking his first Bellator win after coming over from the UFC in 2018. In two appearances for the organization, Johnson has suffered first-round KOs at the hands of Vitaly Minakov and Cheick Kongo.
Bellator 239 will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Ed Ruth and Yaroslav Amosov. The main card will air on Paramount Network and the DAZN streaming service.
