The title unification bout headlining UFC 242 is now official after Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier made weight on Friday morning in Abu Dhabi.
As soon as the official weigh-ins started, Nurmagomedov was the first fighter to step onto the scale as he hit the mark at exactly 155 pounds.
In the past, the undefeated Dagestani champion has struggled with making the lightweight limit including a fight against Tony Ferguson at UFC 209 that was cancelled after he ended up in the hospital after suffering through a brutal weight cut.
It appears Nurmagomedov has put those weight cutting woes behind him as he looks to defend his lightweight title for the second time after defeating Conor McGregor last October.
As for Poirier, the interim UFC lightweight champion was the second fighter on the scale on Friday morning just after Nurmagomedov finished.
Poirier weighed 155 pounds as he looks to become the undisputed lightweight champion after defeating Max Holloway back in April to win the interim belt.
Poirier commented about 30 minutes prior to the weigh-ins that he was already on weight and ready to step onto the scale to make his fight against Nurmagomedov official.

Now that both fighters have made weight, Nurmagomedov and Poirier will rehydrate with just over 24 hours remaining until they meet in the Octagon in the UFC 242 main event.
