John Phillips’s first UFC win—and 20th career KO—couldn’t have been any sweeter.

Matched up with fellow slugger Alen Amedovski in the headlining preliminary bout of UFC Copenhagen, the two middleweights did not disappoint, living up to their reputations by throwing bombs at each other from the opening bell.

Phillips, who has never won a fight by decision, needed just 17 seconds (the bout was originally announced as having ended at the 14-second mark) to land the finishing blow and put Amedovski down for the count:

This was the fourth UFC appearance for Phillips, who failed to walk out with a win in his three previous Octagon appearances. He improves his pro record to 22-9 (1 NC), while Amedovski is now 0-2 in the UFC and 8-2 overall.
