Another flying knee, another win for Michael Page.
Coming off of the first loss of his career, “Venom” bounced back (almost literally) with a flying knee knockout of Richard Kiely (3-2) at Bellator Dublin on Friday.
From the start, Page looked like he was happy to toy with the less experienced Kiely, even drawing a point deduction from referee Dan Miragliotta for his showboating. Perhaps he knew the penalty wouldn’t matter, because it wasn’t long after that that Page connected with his fight-finishing strike, walking off as the bout was called at 2:47 of round one.
Page is now 14-1 as a pro, with his lone loss coming at the hands of Douglas Lima in the second round of the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix in May. Post-fight, “MVP” called for a rematch with Lima, who is next scheduled to challenge Rory MacDonald for the 170-pound title in the Grand Prix finals this October.
