Fabian Edwards is getting the matchup he’s been hunting for.
The unbeaten middleweight will fight Mike Shipman at a Bellator show on Nov. 23 at SSE Arena, Wembley in London, officials announced Wednesday. Several other bouts were also added, including the debut of recently signed Cage Warriors champion Soren Bak.
Edwards (8-0) targeted a matchup with Shipman back in February, hoping to meet his rival at Bellator Birmingham. Edwards would instead face Falco Neto at the May 4 event, defeating him with a spectacular combination started by an up-kick. “The Assassin” has won all three of his fights in 2019.
Shipman (13-2) is coming off of a first-round TKO loss to Costello Van Steenis at Bellator 223. Prior to that, he’d won 13 straight bouts with his only other defeat coming in his pro debut back in June 2013.
For Bak’s first Bellator booking, he’s been matched up with Terry Brazier (11-2) at 155 pounds. Bak (13-1) captured both a lightweight championship and an interim featherweight championship during his recent 5-0 run with the Cage Warriors promotion.
