Jeremy Stephens might not be booking a return trip to Mexico City any time soon.
On Saturday night after suffering an eye poke that caused the main event against Yair Rodriguez to be stopped just 15 seconds into the opening round, Stephens was bombarded with trash as he was rushed out of the arena.
Several videos show Stephens and his team being led out of the arena by security as fans threw drinks and garbage at them.

Both fighters were pelted with trash when the fight was stopped as the Mexico City crowd unleashed a resounding chorus of boos while expressing their displeasure that the main event came to such a disappointing end.
Stephens then had to duck and cover as he attempted to get to the locker room with the crowd throwing garbage at him and his team.

After Stephens made it to the back, he was taken in for medical treatment as doctors attempted to take a look at his damaged eye.
According to a report from ESPN backstage at the event, Stephens was still unable to open his eye even as medical personnel attended to him. He eventually left the arena wearing sunglasses following the unfortunate eye poke that ended his night.
