Yair Rodriguez reacts in disappointment to the UFC Mexico City main event ending in a no contest on Saturday

It wasn’t the result anyone was hoping for, but it certainly had a lot of folks talking.

A seemingly guaranteed barnburner of a main event between Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens ended in just 15 seconds after Stephens was on the receiving end of an accidental eye poke and could not continue despite referee Herb Dean doing everything in his power to give Stephens time to recover.

The MMA world had plenty to say about that disappointment, as well as a hard-fought strawweight co-main event between Carla Esparza and Alexa Grasso, and Steven Peterson’s Knockout of the Year candidate.
