Greg Hardy is fighting one week earlier than planned.

According to a report from, the surging UFC heavyweight’s octagon return has been moved up one week after the withdrawal of his previously scheduled opponent, Jarjis Danho, due to injury.

Hardy was scheduled to face Danho at UFC Singapore on October 26. Now, he’s scheduled to face Dana White Contender Series vet Ben Sosoli at UFC Boston, which airs on ESPN and takes place on Oct. 18 at TD Garden in Boston.

Sosoli makes his official octagon debut after an accidental eyepoke ended his fight Dustin Joynson on the 10th episode of the Contender Series’ third season. Prior to that, Sosoli had racked up a trio of wins on the regional circuit.

Hardy gets back to work after silencing his biggest critic. The controversial former NFLer stopped Juan Adams in 45 seconds to bring him back-to-back wins since a disqualification marred his debut.

Adams repeatedly had targeted Hardy on social media and in interviews, citing his documented history of domestic abuse. Hardy said Adams wasn’t on his level and vowed to do the UFC’s bidding by putting away a petulant fighter.

The placement of Hardy vs. Sosoli on the ESPN-televised card has not yet been announced.
