Matt Wiman is making up for lost time.
After not competing for over four years, Wiman now has his second booking of 2019 as he is set to face newcomer Joe Solecki at UFC on ESPN 7 on Dec. 7 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., according to a report from The Washington Post.
Wiman (16-8) returned to the Octagon this past June, losing by third-round TKO to Luis Pena at UFC Greenville. The 36-year-old has been on the UFC roster since 2006, but was inactive for a long stretch after a unanimous decision win over Isaac Vallie-Flagg on Nov. 22, 2014.
Wiman’s UFC record stands at 10-6 UFC.
The 26-year-old Solecki will make his UFC debut after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this year. Solecki submitted James Wallace with a guillotine choke in the first round of the July 9 main event to improve his pro record to 8-2 and record his third straight victory.
UFC on ESPN 7 is scheduled to be headlined by a heavyweight bout Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris, with the main card airing on ESPN.
