UFC Vancouver results: Augusto Sakai needs less than one minute to flatten Marcin Tybura

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Augusto Sakai was not satisfied with a split decision win in his last fight so he promised to improve upon that performance when he returned on Saturday night in Vancouver.

It took him just 59 seconds to accomplish that goal as he flattened Marcin Tybura with a blistering series of right hands that put the Polish heavyweight down and out in the opening round.

As soon as the action got started, Sakai was on the attack as he started feeding Tybura a barrage of punches that he didn’t seem to be expecting.

Once Sakai had him in trouble, he began pouring on the punishment with a number of overhand rights until Tybura crumbled to the canvas. The referee rushed into stop the fight as Sakai moved to 3-0 in the UFC with his fifth straight victory overall.

As the heavyweight division continues to search for new contenders, Sakai definitely looks like an interesting addition with knockouts in two of his first three fights inside the Octagon.
