VANCOUVER, British Columbia — This is the UFC Vancouver live blog for Donald Cerrone vs. Justin Gaethje, a lightweight bout at Saturday’s UFC event at Rogers Arena.
Cerrone, who has won three of his last four fights, faces Gaethje, who has won two straight, in the main event.

Round 1: Referee Jerin Valel on hand for the evening’s main event. They trade leg kicks to start. Loud “Cowboy” chant early. He backs Gaethje up with a 1-2, but Gaethje returns fire with a glancing left hook. Cerrone ducks out of the way of some Gaethje bombs, he’s utilizing the jab effectively. Gaethje scoring with kicks to the lead leg. Gaethje walks right through a jab, he’s on the hunt. He tags Cerrone with a couple of hooks as they reset in the center of the cage. Neither guy backing down an inch. Inside leg kick by Cerrone, then he counters a leg kick with a jab. Good volume from Cerrone so far. Cerrone also employing a teep to control the distance. Another good kick to the body as Gaethje comes in, his haymakers are falling just short. Some redness on Cerrone’s leg, he’s having to deal with Gaethje’s uppercuts when he gets in close. Counter-right by Gaethje drops Cerrone and he’s on his knees. More follow-up punches, Gaethje looking to Valel to stop it. Eventually, Valel waves it off and neither man is happy. Gaethje thought it was too late, Cerrone too early.
