The biggest news coming out of last weekend wasn’t Khabib’s Nurmagomedov’s dominant win over Justin Gaethje, it was the UFC officially announcing that Nate Diaz would face Jorge Masvidal for the Baddest Motherf*cker in the Game belt in the main event of UFC 244. The BMF title was specifically called for by Diaz after his win over Anthony Pettis and will now be commissioned as a “one-and-done” title by the UFC. That’s a shame because that means the man previously most associated in MMA with the term BMF, won’t even get a chance to challenge for the title.
Speaking at pre-fight scrum yesterday, Donald Cerrone made it clear that if he got to invent a belt, it would’ve been the BMF belt, but that he’s got no ill will towards either Diaz or Masvidal.
“Oh that’d be it, for sure,” Cerrone said.
“That’s cool though. Good for them. I don’t have any regrets or hostility towards them. Good for them. Yeah, why not?”
Of course he would. Cerrone is the owner of BMF Ranch in New Mexico, a facility that serves as home, gym, and playground to a number of fighters. Though the facility has been in operation for a number of years, Cerrone says he never trademarked the term. He could attempt to win the BMF title the old-fashioned way, by paying the iron price, but “Cowboy” admits that might be tough given his history.
“There we go,” Cerrone said to the suggestion he fight the winner of the BMF title. “Except both of them whipped my ass already so that’d be kinda hard. [Laughs].”
Cerrone lost a unanimous decision to Nate Diaz back in 2011 and TKOed by Masvidal in 2017. Both were only speed bumps in the road for Cerrone though he returns to action this weekend against Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC Vancouver. The winner of that bout will be on the short-list of possible challengers for the lightweight title but with Tony Ferguson having first dibs on that, Cerrone says he’d be happy to fight either Diaz or Masvidal next, if the opportunity presented itself.
“I’d fight either one of them, I don’t care,” Cerrone said. “I love fighting so it doesn’t matter to me.”

Apparently Poirier’s (Khabib’s) post-fight shirt has been sold for a handsome sum.

I’ve been spending the last few days with my little girl. These fight camps take me away from her and I notice after every fight she has grown up a little more. I’m thankful that I can do what I love and provide for her... she is my “why”. As for my fight and what seems to have turned into a controversial decision amongst fans.. It was a war... a close fight between 2 skilled people that wanted to finish each other. I have nothing but respect for Edson. We both go out and put on fights to entertain the fans... With that said, I will say this... I walked him down the entire fight, I threw at him the entire fight, I never stalled the entire fight, if he landed, I landed... the entire fight. When he took me down, he took the damage... the entire fight. I never gassed or slowed my pace the entire fight. I got cut due to a head butt, Edson got cut due to strikes. Both of us put our bodies through so much during that fight that whoever came out with the loss would understandably be upset but the numbers don’t lie. If we need to run it back I would be happy to, but this trilogy needs to be 5 rounds because someone was about to break and that someone was not me. If the fans and Edson need a clear ending to this then it’s main event or bust. #irishdragon @mhpstrongusa @gymkingfightdivision @coachdukeroufus @suckerpunchent
Neil Magny on USADA and lifting his provisional suspension.
View this post on Instagram
“There’s no way it can happen to me.” That’s what I said for years until USADA notified me of my provisional suspension due to an adverse finding. That was almost four months ago. I couldn’t understand how this could happen. I have always been careful and have never, to this day, consumed a questionable substance that could put my career or reputation in question. I have been a top 10 UFC fighter for a while, and I LOVE my job. Regardless, this did happen to me, and when It did, it was confusing and it hurt. The process—as laid out by USADA—was rather convoluted and unfair, I thought. It’s difficult to hear that even though you thought you did everything right, you are strictly liable for the adverse findings. Even to this day, I feel USADA does what they believe is right, but that doesn’t change the reality that I was guilty until proven innocent. It's been roughly 4 months since I was notified by USADA of a potential violation. They placed me on a provisional suspension as they conducted their investigation. During this time, a team of people have forced USADA to review their policies, and I hope you (family, friends, fans and fighters) will see real, positive changes in the quality of USADA’s rules and by-laws. Nonetheless, during these last few months I continued to fully cooperate with USADA and submit to their required regular testing. Finally, I am pleased to announce that as of September 4, 2019, my provisional suspension has been lifted without further present penalties. I am truly grateful for all of the people involved in the process of getting this resolved. Thank you to my lawyer, Jared McLuskey, the UFC's Athlete Health/Performance team- Jeff Novitzky and Donna Marcolini, my team for keeping me focused, and my wife and family for being present and supportive. They have helped me with every step along the way. Thank you to my friends and fans. I truly appreciate each and every one of you.
Poirier already got the fire back.

Let’s be serious @TheNotoriousMMA made too much money to ever have the desire to train at world champ level. He ain’t getting younger those times are gone. Only “glory days” and hot air now— Ben Askren (@Benaskren) September 11, 2019
Why so serious?— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) September 11, 2019
Some of us do real work for a living. Not parading around like a drunk asshole punching old people and stomping on phones like a pouty child. Looking forward to an incoherent response https://t.co/SuWEiDVVfB— Ben Askren (@Benaskren) September 11, 2019

This is also good.

Not that I expected any less but dope of Cowboy to be so cool with the whole BMF thing.
Thanks for reading and see y’all tomorrow.
If he wins, should Cowboy fight the winner of Nate-Jorge?
