The UFC will return to Washington D.C. on Dec. 7 and a pair of fights have now been confirmed for the card.
Aspen Ladd is expected to return to action against former UFC title challenger Yana Kunitskaya while Claudia Gadelha will meet Cynthia Calvillo in a strawweight fight on the card.
Multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting that verbal agreements are in place for the fights but contracts have not been signed yet. ESPN initially reported the contests.
Ladd will look to bounce back after suffering the first loss of her career when she fell to Germaine de Randamie in July. Prior to that defeat, Ladd had gone 8-0 with three victories inside the UFC Octagon.
As for Kunitskaya, the former Invicta FC champion has earned victories in her past two fights at 135 pounds after falling to Cris Cyborg at featherweight in her UFC debut.
Meanwhile, former title challenger Claudia Gadleha will attempt to notch her second win in a row after defeating Randa Markos in July when she takes on Calvillo in December.
Calvillo has gone 8-1 in her career with a current two-fight win streak in the UFC after beating Poliana Botelho and Cortney Casey in consecutive bouts.
The two new fights are the first confirmed bouts for the upcoming UFC card in Washington D.C. with the show airing on ESPN in the United States.
