Two co-main event welterweight fights have been added to Bellator Milan and Bellator 230, which both take place on Oct. 12 at Ex Palalido in Milan, Italy.
Bellator confirmed to MMA Fighting that a meeting between UFC veteran Galore Bofando and former Cage Warriors welterweight champion Stefano Paterno will act as the co-main event of Bellator Milan, which will be broadcast on U.K. provider Channel 5 and worldwide on the Bellator app.
The promotion also confirmed that former UFC fighter Oliver Enkamp will take on Italian welterweight Giorgio Pietrini in the co-main event of Bellator 230, which will broadcast on Paramount in the U.S.
Bofando (6-3-0) got off to a winning start with Bellator by claiming a decision win over Irish fighter Keith McCabe in June. The spectacular kickboxer was signed on the back of a 1-1 run with the UFC where he notably took a bizarre knockout win over Charlie Ward in their UFC Glasgow clash.
Paterno (12-3-1) has not competed since his split decision loss to Ross Houston in which he lost the Cage Warriors strap. The narrow defeat ended a seven-fight win streak for the prosperous Italian, who was considerably outsized in the Cage Warriors 98 title bout.
Enkamp (8-2-0) got back into the win column in his Bellator debut when he stopped experienced U.K. campaigner Walter Gahadza with a first round rear-naked choke. Before his signing, Enkamp fought twice in the Octagon, suffering defeats to Nordine Taleb and Danny Roberts.
Giorgio Pietrini (16-5-1) succumbed to a decision loss against UFC veteran Jimmy Walhead at Bellator Birmingham in his last outing. An Italian fan favorite, he announced himself in the Bellator ranks with 20-second stoppage of Nemanja Milakovic at Bellator 211.
