Two flyweight champions are set to face off at Bellator Dublin on Sept. 27 at the 3 Arena as WWCF champion Blaine O’Driscoll meets EFC champion Jake Hadley.
Bellator confirmed the flyweight bout to MMA Fighting on Thursday.
O’Driscoll (7-2-0) is coming off his title capture in the Ukraine when he stopped highly touted champion Teimur Rahimov in the third round via rear-naked choke. The well-rounded SBG proponent will make his Bellator debut on the night, having previously campaigned under the BAMMA banner. O’Driscoll was on the verge of fighting for the Cage Warriors flyweight title last year before former champion Nathan Greyson’s 11th-hour withdrawal.
Hadley (4-0-0) is coming off his EFC title winning performance over celebrated African fighter, Nkazimulo Zulu, which he secured just 14 months into his professional career. “White Kong” debuted as a pro in February 2018 on the back of a considerable amateur run. As well as his win over Zulu, the British fighter has claimed wins over Daryl Grant, Adrian Molenda and Reece Street. Hadley is also set for his Bellator debut when he faces O’Driscoll.
