There’s a lot on the line in Ricky Bandejas’s next fight.
Officials announced Wednesday that the 27-year-old bantamweight will be facing newcomer Ahmet Kayretli at Bellator 225 on Aug. 24 at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Bandejas (11-3) made a huge splash in his own debut last August, handing top prospect James Gallagher his first loss via a first-round knockout. However, he’s gone 0-2 since then, losing to Juan Archuleta and Patrick Mix.
A Legacy Fighting Alliance veteran, Kayretli (8-3, 1 NC) is coming off of a third-round submission loss to Levi Mowles in March. The 30-year-old Turkish fighter went 2-1 with one no contest in the LFA.
Bellator 225 will be headlined by a heavyweight rematch between Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov. The main card will air live on Paramount Network and the DAZN streaming service.
