Cage Warriors will return to Ireland on Nov. 9 to host an event at the Neptune Arena in Cork.
Cage Warriors confirmed the news to MMA Fighting after teasing the announcement via social media on Friday.
The event will mark the first time the promotion has landed in president Graham Boylan’s hometown since Cage Warriors 42 in May 2011, a night where soon-to-be celebrated Irish charges Joseph Duffy, Cathal Pendred and Chris Fields claimed victories.
Cage Warriors last held an event in Ireland in 2017 at Dublin’s 3 Arena. In the main event, former champion Karl Moore claimed victory over Josh Clark.
Some of the most legendary nights in Irish MMA history took place at Cage Warriors events at The Helix. At the Dublin venue, Conor McGregor, Neil Seery and Cathal Pendred all claimed promotional titles that would eventually see them catapulted to the UFC.
Ahead of the promotion’s Irish return, Graham Boylan underlined his commitment to giving Irish fighters a platform to showcase their abilities.
“Our mission hasn’t changed,” says Boylan. “We’re coming back to offer the top talent in Ireland a chance to shine and showcase their skills to the world. Wherever you are in Ireland, wherever you train, you can find a home at Cage Warriors. We’re open to working with everyone and want the guys that are hungry. If you’re willing to give everything, we provide the platform to get you to the top.”
At this point, no fights have been announced for the upcoming Irish date.
