Antonina Shevchenko and Lucie Pudilova stole the show on Saturday.
The two flyweights engaged in a brutal fight on the UFC on ESPN 5 preliminaries that saw Shevchenko bloodied in round one and Pudilova choked unconscious in round two. For their efforts, they each received a $50,000 bonus and the Fight of the Night award. This is the second time Pudilova has received this honor.
Performance of the Night bonuses (also worth $50,000) went to flyweight Matt Schnell for his first-round triangle choke submission of Jordan Espinosa, and lightweight Nasrat Haqparast for his second-round knockout of Joaquim Silva.
This is Schnell’s first fight night bonus. Haqparast previously collected a bonus check following a unanimous decision win over Thibault Gouti that was the Fight of the Night at UFC Moncton last October.
UFC on ESPN 5 took place at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
