Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Ian Heinisch isn’t taking any time off following his most recent defeat.

The middleweight fighter has been booked to take on veteran Brad Tavares in the upcoming UFC Singapore card that’s set to go down on Oct. 26 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang. The news was first reported by ESPN and later confirmed by MMAFighting’s Damon Martin.

Heinisch fought this month, losing a decision to Derek Brunson at UFC 241. The defeat snapped a five-fight win streak for Heinisch and marked his first loss since joining the UFC in 2018. Heinisch, ranked 10th in the division, is 13-2 in his professional MMA career.

His opponent, Tavares, last fought in July 2018 where he lost a decision to now UFC interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Prior to that, Tavares was on a four-fight win streak. The Hawaiian is currently No. 11 in the UFC middleweight rankings.

UFC Singapore is set to be headlined by a welterweight bout between Demian Maia and Ben Askren.
