John Salter vs. Costello van Steenis headlines Bellator 233 in November

A middleweight showdown between John Salter and Costello van Steenis will serve as the main event for Bellator 233 in Thackerville, Okla. on Nov. 8, the promotion announced.

The fight card will take place at the WinStar World Casino and Resort and air live on Paramount Network and DAZN.

It will be more than a year since his last fight when Salter (16-4) enters the cage to take on van Steenis. In his last appearance on Nov. 2018, Salter tapped Chidi Njokuani in the main event of Bellator 210, which took place in the same arena in Thackerville.

Salter is a former UFC and Strikeforce fighter who competed seven times under the Bellator banner since joining the company in 2015, winning six bouts by submission. His lone loss came against future 185-pound champion Rafael Lovato Jr.

van Steenis (12-1), winner of his last six, is undefeated as a Bellator fighter with four victories, capped off by a second-round TKO over Mike Shipman in June.
