Cris Cyborg apologizes to Dana White over controversial video

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Cris Cyborg is clearing the air over the video she put out after UFC 240.

In the video that has since been removed, Cyborg discussed certain statements UFC President Dana White made concerning the former champion, including her willingness to rematch with UFC champion Amanda Nunes.

Cyborg now says some creative video editing made White appear to say certain things he did not say in their conversation.

“I want to let everyone know that the video was edited by my Production Team to make it appear as though Dana told me “and listen whenever you hear me saying stuff, I’m not saying …the truth.” Dana did not say that to me, and the subtitles in the video were incorrect. As you can see from the unedited video, Dana actually said “and listen, whenever you hear me saying stuff, I’m not saying negative things about you,” Cyborg posted on Instagram.

White and the UFC made clear that they were going to release Cyborg on Friday.

Cyborg’s complete Instagram post is below.
