UFC 241: Cormier vs. Miocic 2 took place Aug. 17 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (22-2, 1 no-contest) faced former UFC champion Stipe Miocic (19-3) in the main event, which aired live on ESPN+ pay-per-view. Catch more video highlights below.

Round 1: Herb Dean the third man in the cage for this heavyweight title bout. They trade leg kicks, neither man looking to take any big risks early. Nice jab by Cormier, then a 1-2 connects for the champ. Miocic lands a couple of glancing punches, then a sharp inside leg kick. Cormier advances with punches and then goes for a single leg. Miocic defending well, but then Cormier just picks him up into the air, holding him there before dumping him with a fireman’s carry. Cormier in side control, Miocic is calm and gets back to half guard. Cormier in full guard now, Miocic staying relaxed as Cormier pressures with light ground-and-pound. Cormier’s punches are getting through from top position. Cormier postures up and gets back on top, he’s riding Miocic now, throwing hammer fists from back position. They’re landing hard. Miocic hanging on to Cormier’s leg as the round comes to a close.

Round 2: Miocic takes the center of the Octagon this time. He approaches carefully, landing a solid knee to Cormier’s midsection. Straight right lands, then a kick to the body, then an uppercut for Miocic. His hands are looking sharp in this round. Cormier with a straight jab and a 1-2, then an elbow. Big right hand for Miocic. Cormier looking loose, hands low, just marching forward and throwing punches. Eye poke by Cormier and there’s an awkward pause, Cormier continues to punch so Miocic answers back with a big uppercut. It’s all forward movement for Cormier and he’s scoring consistently with straight punches. They are both landing hard punches, neither man showing much head movement. Counter-left by Miocic. It’s a more even round, but Cormier appears to have the advantage in volume. He’s backing Miocic up, but Miocic is answering with counter punches. Miocic throws a body kick into the mix, Cormier answers with a head kick. 1-2 by Miocic lands clean. Close one.

Round 3: Miocic settling into a nice rhythm, letting Cormier come to him and tagging him. Cormier easily avoids a single leg takedown. Cormier firing off that jab, Dean warns him to watch his fingers. Miocic just eating jabs. Cormier just letting punches bounce off his head too. Uppercut in the clinch by Cormier, Miocic with the left cross. Miocic leaning on Cormier against the fence. On the separation, Miocic whiffs on a spinning back elbow. Miocic with a little more head movement, he’s connecting with straight punches. Cormier back on the offense with his jab and a kick to the body. They’ve been in a phone booth for most of this fight. Miocic gets underhooks and takes Cormier down, he knees Cormier as the champion stands. Miocic stuffs a takedown. Cormier cranking up the pressure with one minute remaining. Nice punch in the clinch by Miocic. 1-2 lands clean for Cormier, then he follows up with a sequence of punches, everything landing. Strong finish for the champion.

Round 4: Miocic on the offensive, but Cormier quickly backs him up with another flurry of punches. Cormier circling and scoring with his jab. Miocic not backing down, he starts working Cormier’s body with punches. Uppercut to the body now by Miocic, then another left hook. He’s targeting that midsection. Cormier not able to get off this round with two minutes to go, Miocic is ripping that body. Cormier sticking with the jab. 1-2 right down the middle by Cormier. Miocic marching forward, absorbing that jab as he has all fight. Body shot by Miocic, then a right hand up top. Right hand up top and Cormier looks hurt! Miocic smells blood as Cormier stumbles to the cage. Miocic pours it on and Dean gives Cormier every chance to recover, but Cormier slumps down against the fence. There’s the stoppage!
