Warning: Story contains explicit image of facial cut.
There was no arguing this stoppage.
In a flyweight fight at UFC Uruguay on Saturday that saw both men’s faces bloodied, it was Raulian Paiva who ended up having to take the loss after a knee from Rogerio Bontorin opened up an enormous gash over his right eye.

The official time of the doctor stoppage was 2:56 into round one and if there was any question that referee Osiris Maia made the right call, it was answered emphatically by an image that UFC president Dana White later posted on social media.

Already ranked in the top-10 of the UFC’s official flyweight contender rankings, Bontorin improved to 2-0 inside the Octagon and he improved his pro record to 16-1.
