UFC 239 bonuses: Jorge Masvidal earns extra $50K for instant classic KO

The knockout business proved to be a lucrative one on Saturday.

At UFC 239, four fighters earned Performance of the Night bonuses for finishing their bouts with strikes in dramatic fashion: Jorge Masvidal, Amanda Nunes, Jan Blachowicz, and Song Yadong.

No Fight of the Night award was given out.

Masvidal was all but guaranteed to earn a $50,000 bonus check after destroying Ben Askren with a flying knee, a finish that was officially logged at five seconds, which made it the fastest knockout in UFC history.

The other bonuses went to Nunes, who successfully defended her bantamweight title for a fourth time with a first-round TKO of Holly Holm, Blachowicz, for his second-round KO of former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, and Yadong, for his knockout of Alejandro Perez that came just over two minutes into round one.
