This is The A-Side Live Chat on MMA Fighting.

Today on the show, José Youngs is joined by Petesy Carroll to look back at UFC 240, which featured a barnburner of a featherweight title fight between reigning champion Max Holloway and future Hall of Famer Frankie Edgar. Was this finally the performance to cement Holloway’s status as the greatest 145-pound champion in UFC history or does that honor still belong to Jose Aldo? What’s next for Hawaii’s champion? Is a title defense against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 243 next or should “Blessed” take more time to recover after five title fights in seven months?

Also, where does Edgar go from here? After coming up short in his fourth consecutive title fight, is another shot at UFC gold even a possibility? Should “The Answer” consider dropping down to bantamweight in hopes of breathing new life into his career?

We’ll also discuss Cris Cyborg’s free agency status following her destructive win over Felicia Spencer in the night’s co-main event. After years of what she describes at “bullying” from Dana White, should Cyborg even consider re-signing with the promotion? If she does decided to take her talents elsewhere, where should she sign? Is a reunion with Scott Coker in Bellator the most obvious option or should she look to make the climb up ONE Championship or Rizin Fighting Federation’s roster?

If there is time, we can also look ahead to Saturday’s UFC Newark card, featuring a welterweight main event between former interim champion Colby Covington and former undisputed champion Robbie Lawler. Does win for Covington guarantee him a shot at current champion Kamaru Usman or has the emergence of Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards made it a bit more complicated? Oh, and what can fans expect from Robbie Lawler? Does he still have another championship run left in him or has father time finally caught up to “Ruthless” inside the Octagon?

As always, we’ll post the video window as the event draws near and answer any questions you might have if you post them in the comments below. For the comments you deem the most deserving, please click the “rec” button. Comments in green will get first priority.
