Aalon Cruz may as well have put pen to paper as soon as he left the cage.
The 29-year-old featherweight landed a highlight-reel knockout knee on Tuesday during Week 6 of Dana White’s Contender Series at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and sure enough, he was presented with a UFC contract later that evening.

In the third round of his bout with previously unbeaten Steven Nguyen, Cruz (8-2) landed a jumping knee flush on Nguyen’s chin to record a KO with just 24 seconds remaining in the fight. It was just the second finish via strikes in the Floridian’s young career.
