Joanna Jedrzejczyk will return to the strawweight division to face Michelle Waterson in a UFC Fight Night card on Oct. 12, MMA Fighting confirmed following a report by ESPN.

According to Waterson’s manager Malki Kawa, the event will likely take place in San Francisco, Calif.

Jedrzejczyk (15-3) challenged Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant flyweight championship in December and drops back down to the division she once ruled hoping to earn another crack at the gold. Jedrzejczyk holds a win over current 115-pound champion Jessica Andrade, who dethroned Rose Namajunas in May.

Waterson (17-6), who watched Andrade’s knockout win over Namajunas cage side in Rio de Janeiro, is on a three-fight winning streak with decisions over Courtney Casey, Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. The former Invicta FC champion holds a 5-2 record since joining the UFC in 2015.
