Cage Warriors 109 is set to take place on Oct. 26 in Birmingham’s World Resorts Arena, and Cage Warriors has confirmed to MMA Fighting that a number of high-profile names are set to compete on the night.
Jai Herbert (9-1-0) goes into his hometown event on the back of his lightweight title capture over a man who had been highly tipped to seal a deal with the UFC had his hand been raised, Jack Grant. The British knockout artist has been in fantastic form since signing for the European promotion, claiming four wins in as many outings over Erdi Karatas, Joe McColgan, Steve O’Keefe and most recently, Grant.
Former featherweight champion Dean Trueman (10-5-0) will look to bounce back into the win column after losing his title to UFC veteran Mads Burnell at Cage Warriors 106: Night of Champions. Trueman claimed the title with two impressive victories over Lewis Monarch and Aidan Lee on route to claiming the coveted belt.
Grant (15-5-0) had a six-fight win streak snapped by Herbert when they clashed at the same title-heavy marquee in late June. Considered one of the best prospects in the U.K., the submission specialist will look to regain some composure when he returns to the cage in October.
Birmingham natives Michael Younis (2-1-0) and Chris Miah (8-2-0) will also compete on the night, with Miah set to make his bow under the banner. Former middleweight title contender Mick Stanton will also look to add to his two-fight win column on the back of wins over Jenaid Ebanks and Alex Montagnani.
Tickets are already on sale for the October event with a 20% discount available as an Early Bird offer.
