UFC Minneapolis medical suspensions: Maurice Greene, Vinicius Moreira potentially out six months

The aftermath of UFC Minnesota sees one of the card’s fastest winners and one of its fastest losers possibly having to sit on the sidelines for a while.

Per the official results from the Minnesota Office of Combative Sports, heavyweight Maurice Greene and light heavyweight Vinicius Moreira were given potential medical suspensions of 180 days. Greene, who defeated Junior Albini inside of a round, has a minimum suspension of 30 days and he will require x-rays before receiving clearance from a physician.

Moreira was knocked out by Eryk Anders in just 78 seconds and has a minimum suspension of 30 days. He will have to get a clear CT scan before competing again.

Also of note, main event winner Francis Ngannou will require just 14 days of mandatory rest. His opponent Junior dos Santos was given a 45-day medical suspension.

Jussier Formiga was also given a 45-day suspension and the man who beat him, Joseph Benavidez, 30 days.

The commission did not disclose the nature of the fighters’ injuries.

UFC Minneapolis took place on June 29 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show aired live on ESPN.
