Michael Page seems to have been lured into fellow kickboxer Richard Kiely’s war of words as the duo are set to face off in the co-main event of Bellator Dublin on Sept. 27 at the 3 Arena.
Bellator announced the bout via the Irish Mirror on Wednesday morning after weeks of the European welterweights exchanging barbs back and forth online.
Page (14-1-0) is coming off the first loss of his MMA career, a viral knockout at the hands of current welterweight contender and former champion, Douglas Lima. The loss brought an end to a 10-fight win streak under the Bellator banner for “Venom”, who is considered one of the most spectacular strikers in all of MMA.
Known for his outspoken nature and his dynamic striking arsenal, Kiely (3-1-0) jumped back into the win column with a first-round knockout of Mickael Bucher at Bellator 217 in Dublin, Ireland. Ever since his he was forced from his Bellator London meeting with Galore Bofando, the Irish fighter has been goading Page into a contest in Dublin.
