On the heels of the fastest knockout in UFC history, Jorge Masvidal is ready to make some serious money in his next fight.

After dispatching Ben Askren in just five seconds this past weekend at UFC 239, Masvidal immediately called for a title shot against reigning welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Unfortunately, Usman is still recovering from double hernia surgery so there was one other name on Masvidal’s hit list that would definitely interest him for a fight.

“Definitely the title, definitely Kamaru Usman interests me. He’s got the title and that’s what I want but he’s always having injuries and things are happening,” Masvidal said when speaking to “The Dan LeBatard Show” on Thursday. “Another guy that interests me because it’s just a fight that if we made it, it’s going to sell a lot and I’m going to get the money that I deserve and you can see you put me in there in a fight and I’m going to fight. I’m going to give you what the fans. I’ve never pulled out of a fight.

“I want [Conor] McGregor. I want to break his face. I think that’s an easy paycheck. He’s got these cash symbols written all over his face for me. I just don’t see it going his way if I’m honest with you.”

McGregor hasn’t fought since last October when he fell to reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, although UFC president Dana White has said he believes the Irish superstar will compete again before the end of the year.

Masvidal believes he’s the biggest and best fight for anybody right now after knocking out Askren and Darren Till in consecutive fights but he also knows facing McGregor would net him the biggest payday and a relatively easy night at the office.

“He backs down. He taps. I’ve never tapped in my whole entire career,” Masvidal said about McGregor. “He’s tapped a couple times so that’s backing down in my book. It’s something I’ve never done and I feel like I’d break him. It would be an easy fight.

“It just means more money, more fans and then fight for the title. Either one of them makes sense to me.”

In his most recent outing, Masvidal endured a lot of trash talk from Askren leading into their fight and it motivated the welterweight title contender to silence him once and for all after they stepped into the Octagon together.

As annoying as Askren may have been, McGregor is widely considered the best trash talker in combat sports and he doesn’t shy away from making things quite personal in his psychological warfare to get under his opponents’ skin.

Masvidal says he’s got the perfect answer for that.

“There’s no agitating me,” Masvidal stated. “It’s just you’re corny, you’re non-stop talking, whatever, you’re going to get a little bit extra punished.”

In his mind, Masvidal doesn’t see any other fight making sense but he would definitely be happy with Usman or McGregor as his next opponent.

“I think either/or, equal out to big, big checks so I’m happy with either/or,” Masvidal said. “I think Conor’s a bigger check so I wouldn’t mind Conor. I want to put money away in the bank.”
