This is The A-Side Live Chat on MMA Fighting.

Today, José Youngs will be joined by everyone’s favorite Irish journalist, Petesy Carroll.

The two will give their reaction to an eventful UFC 239, where fans saw both Jon Jones and Amanda Nunes defend their titles in the night’s top two fights. Was Jones’s performance enough to cement himself as true G.O.A.T. of MMA or does he still have work to do? Has Nunes silenced any argument over her being the greatest female fighter of all time?

Oh, and where do their opponents, Thiago Santos and Holly Holm, go from here?

They will also discuss Jorge Masvidal’s record setting five-second knockout over Ben Askren on the same card. Was this enough to earn “Gambred” his spot as the rightful number one contender for Kamaru Usman’s welterweight crown or do we have to wait for the upcoming fight between Colby Covington and Robbie Lawler. Where does Askren go from here? Should he even consider fighting again in 2019 or should he heal up while the top of the division becomes clear?

Another topic can be the recent victories for Arnold Allen, Jan Blachowicz and Michael Chiesa as well as the stunning losses for Gilbert Melendez, Luke Rockhold and Diego Sanchez. Should the three pugilists consider hanging up their gloves for good? What does a win for their opponents mean in 2019?

They will also look ahead to UFC Sacramento, featuring a bantamweight scrap with heavyweight title implication between Aspen Ladd and Germaine de Randamie. Which fighter can stamp their ticket to the top of the division? Also on the card, fans will witness the return of UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber as he squares off against the surging Ricky Simon. Has father time truly passed Faber by or can he turn the back the clock against his younger foe?

Also, if there is time, we can preview the upcoming Bellator 224 card, featuring the return of featherweight champion Julia Budd as well as welterweight standout Ed Ruth and former middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho.

There is plenty to discuss, so join us to rap on all of the above and much more. As we always say, this is your show, so we will talk about whatever it is you want us to talk about. The chat will start at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.

As usual, we’ll post the video window as the event draws near and answer any questions you might have if you post them in the comments below. For the comments you deem the most deserving, please click the “rec” button. Comments in green will get first priority.
