Less than 12 hours after being on the receiving end of a hellacious head kick, Jessica Eye appears to be alright.
Eye challenged Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight championship in the co-main event of UFC 238 on Saturday in Chicago, a bout that ended early in the second round when Shevchenko’s shin connected with Eye’s forehead. The impact left Eye flat on her back and she remained still on the mat for what felt like an interminable period of time.
On Sunday, Eye wrote a pair of tweets to congratulate Shevchenko on the win and thank her supporters.
Congratulations @BulletValentina that was incredible head kick. I am thankful for the chance to share the cage with you .

To my true supporters : thank you so much for all you do for me . I am ok and thank you for caring about me . I had a great camp and felt the best I have ever. I made some mistakes that cost me dearly. This fight game can be rough at times but it’s what I signed up for.
