Fans are about to get a deeper look into the mind of UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
ESPN announced Saturday that Cormier will be featured on a five-part edition of Detail, the sports analysis show developed by NBA legend Kobe Bryant. The program usually sees Bryant breaking down pivotal basketball plays and sequences and has also featured multiple-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning. Now it will be Cormier taking the lead and analyzing some of MMA’s greatest fighters.
The first episode will air on July 1, exclusively on ESPN+ and Cormier’s focus will be on Amanda Nunes ahead of her upcoming bantamweight title defense against Holly Holm at UFC 239 next Saturday.
Quick preview from the @amanda_leoa episode. Feint, mix up the target, draw out reactions. Like @DominickCruz says, make reads. (And like the great @kobebryant says , this show is not to entertain this one is for the athlete, the dreamer) ESPN+ Tomorrow pic.twitter.com/jjpxOHWVBD

Other fighters that Cormier will analyze on the show include Conor McGregor, Kamaru Usman, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Israel Adesanya.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am about doing a UFC edition of Detail, and expanding the show to a new MMA audience,” Cormier said in a statement. “When I first saw how Kobe breaks down NBA stars and how Peyton Manning explains the NFL, I knew that same kind of analysis applied perfectly to UFC.
“When you see a knockout or a submission, it’s exciting and fun to watch, but there is so much that goes into setting up that exciting result. So much technique. So much tactical expertise. So many hours of mental and physical development. I can’t wait to break it all down for UFC fans.”
