Paige VanZant is back on the mend.
The 25-year-old flyweight will have to undergo surgery to address a fracture in her right arm, a procedure that is scheduled for June 13. VanZant (8-4) confirmed the news on social media following a report by ESPN.
Following a submission win over Rachael Ostovich in January, VanZant later announced that she had injured her arm in training. The injury forced her to withdraw from a bout with Poliana Botelho at UFC 236 this past April.
This will be the third surgery VanZant is having performed on her right arm. She initially broke it in a fight with Jessica-Rose Clark back in January 2018, a setback that required a pair of surgeries that sidelined VanZant for over a year.
Per ESPN, VanZant expects to be out for approximately three months.
